On more than one occasion, the complicity of various authorities with the drug cartels in Mexico has been revealed, and the most recent case occurred in the municipality of Nicolás Romero, in the State of Mexico.
And 10 municipal police officers were arrested by the State Attorney General’s Office, as they were linked to a cell of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) related to at least 16 homicides.
But that’s not all, well The director of that police corporation and four more uniformed officers would also be part of the criminal network and they are fugitives, so they are priority search targets.
The investigations that revealed this network of corrupt police officers began with complaints filed regarding the disappearance of people since last April.
They had images of the crimes
This is how inspections were carried out in wells located in the municipality of Nicolás Romero, where The lifeless bodies of 10 people were located and another six in different parts of the region.
Forensic examinations established that all the victims died from various blows and showed signs of torture. Furthermore, images taken from the mobile devices of the detained police officers reveal that some of the people were thrown alive.
Investigations indicate that in addition to being involved in the homicides, the municipal police were also in charge of providing protection to this criminal network of the CJNG so that its members operated with impunity and were not arrested.
The wells, up to 4 meters in diameter and 40 meters deep, were drilled with heavy machinery, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, but during the operations they did not find the extracted earth, so they assume that it was eliminated to make location difficult.
