The film “Inside Out 2” occupies number 1 at the United States box office this week

The movie of Pixar “Inside Out 2” This week it is number 1 at the United States box office, after grossing $155 million dollars in its first weekend. It is the second best debut for a production from that studio and the second for an animated film, only surpassed by “The Incredibles 2”2018.

Directed by Kelsey Mann (in his feature film debut), “Inside Out 2” presents in the voices of its main characters Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Maya Hawke, Adele Exarchopoulos and Phyllis Smith. It’s about a teenager named Riley, who experiences new emotions and wants to qualify for her school’s hockey team, The Firehawks.

Mann has been part of the creative team of Pixar in movies like “Turning Red”, “Luca” and “Lightyear”. He commented to E.W. that “Inside Out 2” It has a slightly different concept than the first part, released nine years ago: “The first film gave everyone a visual language to talk about their feelings. I thought, ‘If I can do that for teenagers,’ which was probably the hardest time of my life, ‘and if I can make that time a little bit better, then I’d love to do it.'”

They complete this week’s Top 5 at the box office “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die”the blockbuster starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, which drops to second place, with $33 million dollars; in the third is “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes”, with $5.2 million dollars. Fourth place goes to “The Garfield Movie”which grossed $5 million, and in fifth place is the mystery film “The Watchers”with $3.7 million dollars raised. In 2015 “Inside Out” earned more than $356 million dollars in the United States and Canadabecoming one of the biggest hits of Pixar Animation and Walt Disney Pictures.
