The Mexican Olympic medalist Alejandra Valencia, He assured that at 29 years old he goes through a moment of maturity and that allows him tohope to win at least one medal in archery at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“There are three possibilities and we have worked hard to arrive at the best time; I shoot between 500 and 600 arrows a day, in addition to physical and psychological preparation“, the athlete, who will take part in France in the individual, team and mixed competitions, told EFE.

Valencia, originally from Hermosillo, in the state of Sonora, won bronze in Tokyo in the mixed event along with Luis Álvarez, with whom she confirmed herself as one of the best competitors in the country in this century, world runner-up and with gold in the last three Pan American Games.

“I can’t compare myself with the past Tokyo Games, but I can compare the process to get to Japan with the one now in Paris; The experience has helped me in difficult moments,” she explained.

The Mexican said that only when she competes in Paris will she know if she is better than herself when she won bronze in Japan, but she is focused on enjoying the experience in the three events in which she will take part and from there on seeking her best performance.

“I imagine the Paris Games with a lot of enjoyment, I will arrive with that mentality. The psychological work, so important in archery, has been solid, with visualizations, breathing techniques and other aspects,” he added.

Alejandra highlighted the good atmosphere in the Mexican archery team, one of the main members of the Mexican delegation to Paris 2024, which hopes to win medals in several sports.
