The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador , welcomed his counterpart of Bolivia, Luis Arce , who will be in Mexico on the occasion of 190 anniversary of diplomatic relations between both nations.
“ President Arce is our friend, partner, brother. He is the fruit of an indigenous, popular, democratic movement in Bolivia that demonstrated a new way of governing in favor of the people and especially in favor of the poorest, the marginalized. It was a government that emerged after dictatorships, authoritarian regimes, a government headed by Evo Morales ”, he pointed out.
In a morning press conference, the Mexican president highlighted that the economic model promoted in Bolivia by the former president Evo Morales (2006 – 2019), lifted millions of people out of poverty and managed to redistribute wealth.
“ The Bolivian model explains how it is possible to create wealth, because you cannot distribute what you do not have and you need to create wealth, but you have to try to distribute wealth … That is the Bolivian model and it was successful and it will continue to be very successful, “said the Mexican president from Mexico City.
From the National Palace, López Obrador said that for Mexico is “very satisfactory” that “democracy” has been recovered in Bolivia and that achieved “without much violence.”
“ It was really a feat of the Bolivian people “, stressed the Mexican president, while saying that both peoples are” brothers “and have” the same purposes of justice and freedom. “
“It is admirable what they did during the Presidency of Evo Morales”, from 2006 to 2019, because there was an “exemplary” economic growth, to recover its natural resources and to give well-being to the people.

For his part the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce , thanked President López Obrador for receiving in addition to the help he received from Mexico during his political asylum after the coup in 2019 in the South American country.
“ It is a happiness to come to Mexico, this time no longer as a refugee, as an asylee, before the coup perpetuated in my country in November of 2019, we were here trying to condition ourselves to the new life that awaited us until we were summoned by our organizations as a candidate for the Presidency.
“During these two months that I have been here in Mexico, I have received a lot of solidarity from the Mexican people ano “, said the Bolivian president
Luis Arce celebrated that he can share with Andrés Manuel López Obrador the recovery of Bolivian democracy.
“ For me in particular it is double joy to be here, to share the celebration of that important battle, but also because it is the country that sheltered me. Today we come to tell you, Mr. President Manuel López Obrador, we are recovering our democracy. ”
The Bolivian President makes this visit to Mexico after being invited by the President López Obrador where he will be carrying out various activities for the 190 years of diplomatic relations.
After his participation in the morning conference and his private meeting with López Obrador, Luis Arce will go to the Bosque de Chapultepec where he will deposit an offering at the Altar to the Homeland.
In the Old City Hall of Mexico City he will be named distinguished guest and will hold meetings with officials such as Chancellor Marcelo Ebrard.
In addition will go to the Senate where a solemn session in his honor and will participate as guest of honor and distinguished speaker in the commemoration of the Day a de la Victoria de Chakán Putum , which will be held tomorrow Thursday in Champotón, Campeche.
