The model and former singer Cassie Ventura broke the silence regarding the recent dissemination of a video, recorded in 2016, in which the rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs appears beating her at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Ventura, 37, posted on his Instagram account instagram a message thanking everyone for the support they expressed to him a week ago: “Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have not yet met. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now. But this is just the beginning. Domestic violence is THE problem. It broke me into someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”
Ventura wants to leave that stage of his life behind, and sees the future in a much more positive way: “Thank you to everyone who has taken this matter seriously. All I ask is that EVERYONE opens their hearts to the victims; It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth in a situation where you feel helpless. I offer my hand to those who still live in fear. Get close to your people, don’t isolate them, no one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey has no end, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love always, Cassie.”
Some days ago Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, condemned the acts committed by Combs, and published a letter on his social media account, in which the following stands out: “Men who hit women are not men. The men who allow it and protect these people are not men. As men, violence against women should not be inevitable…For abusers, they are finished, they are no longer safe, they are no longer protectedthe men next to him are just as weak, they are so miserable with themselves that the m***** would be considered a kindness.”
At the moment Diddy is being investigated for a series of allegations related to sex trafficking, sexual assault and harassment. After the aforementioned video was released, he shared a clip on his social networks in which he says that he takes responsibility for his actions: “My behavior in that video is inexcusable…But I am committed to being a better man every day.” days. I’m not asking for forgiveness. Very sorry”.
