Every year, the Cannes Film Festival becomes the center of attention. It is the most important cinematographic event prior to the Oscar Awards and the movie stars choose their best outfit for the film project in which they participate.

This season, great films are on the list: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road by George Miller’, ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, the long-awaited ‘Megalopolis’ by Francis Ford Coppola and the peculiar and starry film by Yorgos Lanthimos , ‘Kinds of Kindness’.

This Friday, May 17, Great emotions were experienced at the festival. One of the big surprises was Emma Stone.

Stone arrived to be part of the screening of the film he stars in, ‘Kinds of Kindness’, made by Yorgos Lanthimos. Some of the cast were also present: Emma Stone, Hunter Schafer, Mamoudou Athie, Margaret Qualley, Jesse Plemons, Joe Alwyn, Hong Chau and Willem Dafoe.

Three months after achieving victory at the Oscars, Stone returned to Lanthimos. Showing a more provocative side of his career.

In ‘Kinds of Kindness,’ Lanthimos and co-writer Efthimis Filippou present three short stories in which people desperately fight to regain control of their lives, no matter how dark and strange they may have been before the twists of fate come.

Another personality that surprised the press was Francis Ford Coppola, the screenwriter and film director arrived to present his most recent project: ‘Megalopolis’.

His phrase at the conference was immortalized in time:

“There are so many people who when they die say, ‘I wish I had done this, I wish I had done that.’ When I die, I’ll say, ‘I have to do this.’ I got to see my daughter win an Oscar and I got to make wine and make all the movies she wanted to make. I will be so busy thinking about all the things I have to do, that when she dies she won’t notice.”
