The kidnapping of a woman in Florida, whose body was found completely burned inside her truck, remains under investigation and authorities have doubts regarding the statements made by the victim’s husband.

While the coroner’s office is trying to identify with dental and DNA records whether the body found belongs to Katherine Altagracia GuerreroSeminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma revealed that there are inconsistencies in the husband’s statements.

Although the sheriff described the victim’s partner as “cooperative,” he stated in a press conference that “he knows much more than he shares,” as reported by Univision Orlando.

And, as part of his statements to the police, the man mentioned that Katherine was in Seminole County visiting relatives, but the authorities have not been able to find any of them in that area.

“At the conference on Friday I said that we had not been able to locate any family members in the area. Since then, we believe we have located two, one in Volusia and one in Osceola, but neither expected a visit from her. And the place where she was (when she was kidnapped) was not even close,” the sheriff explained.

Did not call 911

Another issue that makes Dennis Lemma doubt is Why didn’t the husband report the incident to 911?after Katherine contacted him to tell him what was happening at that moment, and only told him not to stop.

Before being kidnapped, the suspects rammed Katherine’s truck from a green Acura car. Finally, one of the subjects, armed with a machine gun, pointed it at him from outside the car and got in to the vehicle with it.

Given these details, the sheriff does not understand why her husband, knowing what was happening, did not call the emergency number.

“It’s not normal for your wife to contact you, saying she was being hit by a car and you go two hours without calling anyone,” he said. “Frankly, I think he knows a lot more than he shares.”he added.

When asked if there is probable complicity on the part of the husband, Lemma simply stated: “At this time I am not ready to reveal whether it is related or not. Our investigation is exploring any possibilities.”
