Linda Hamilton considered retiring before landing a role in Stranger Things

Linda Hamilton considered retiring. The 67-year-old actress thought about quitting acting until she found out that she had landed a role that she had auditioned for and that she was very excited about.

In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Hamilton revealed that when he was thinking about throwing in the towel, good news arrived: Got a role in the final season of Stranger Things.

“I literally felt like I was an actress getting my first significant role,” the actress said when she found out she had landed the role.

“It’s funny how one recycles oneself. It’s not that I felt forgotten, but she was actually talking about retirement, not because there wasn’t enough to do, but simply because she was tired. “She had pain in my hip for a couple of years and I was like, ‘I’m so tired and I just want to be able to make plans and make sure I can be there,’ because actors never can,” she added.

The actress assured that the pain began when she was recording the third season of Resident Alien. At that time, he told his agent that he was thinking about retiring. “I was like, ‘Dude, I don’t even know if I’m going to get there. It hurts,’” he recalled, laughing. “And he said, ‘Oh, you don’t say that.’”

The actress said that two weeks after making the decision to retire, the Stranger Things team called her.

“When I said I was retiring, two weeks later Stranger Things He called my agent and said, ‘Is Linda Hamilton available in June?’ And he said, ‘Yes.'” And he added: “He didn’t even ask me.”

Hamilton assured that although she had already retired for months, she would have returned to participate in Stranger Things. “And I think that will give me another 15 minutes with a new audience, which is great,” he said of his participation in the series.

Did it ruin the last season?

In an interview with Us Weekly, The 67-year-old actress said she felt a little out of place and joked that her addition ruined the series. from Netflix.

“I have watched each season with delight. “I love it,” she told Us Weekly. “So it’s kind of an imposter syndrome where I don’t feel like I fit in there. It’s a whole world set in the 80s,” she added.

Although Hamilton has watched the previous seasons of Stranger Things, he said he probably won’t watch the show’s final season.. “I never look at a project once I’m on something. Seeing myself there would take me completely out of reality. So I won’t watch season 5,” she said.

So far, no details are known about the character Hamilton will play. in the last installment of the series. Likewise, the actress revealed that she does not know what the end of Stranger Things will be like.

“I did Zoom with Ross and Matt Duffer and they gave me the shape of the character, but not the story. Because they have to be very careful with their history. So I still don’t know how this ends,” he said.

“It takes a lot of discipline to not know where it is going to go. But that is to protect it from all the people who want to know,” she added.
