Hirving “Chucky” Lozano finally broke the offensive drought he had in his return to action with PSV Eindhoven who gave a new demonstration of forcefulness this Saturday in the Eredivisie by winning by a landslide (6-0) against the bottom of the championship, Vitesse.
The absolute leader of the tournament in the Netherlands counted on the great return of the Mexican forward who was reunited with the goal, something he had not achieved since last November 12 in the victory of the PSV Eindhoven against Zwolle (4-0). Five months passed for the Mexican to stir the networks again.
“Chucky” Lozano had missed his team’s last two games due to discomfort in one of his knees suffered during the defeat against NEC Nimeja (3-1) on March 30. The Mexican started in that match but left after the first half.
For this match, corresponding to matchday 30 of the Dutch championship, PSV Eindhoven coach Peter Bosz was not completely sure of being able to count on the Mexican player who finally appeared to be completely recovered from his discomfort and was available for action.
Hirving Lozano entered in the 62nd minute in place of Malik Tillman and the Mexican was quite active, having several shots and supplying balls to his teammates. But it was in the second minute of added time that “Chucky” managed to find the goal again and put the finishing touch to PSV’s victory.
The Mexican appeared in the exact spot to receive a fair pass from Tygo Land that left him in a one-on-one with the rival goalkeeper. Lozano defined first with a touch with his right leg to send the ball away and put an end to his team’s victory.
It is the sixth goal for Hirving Lozano in the current season of the Dutch championship where the Mexican has received questions for his lack of goals since his return to the team at the beginning of this season from Italian Napoli.
Those from Amsterdam did not give their rival any chance with an offensive that broke out around the first half hour of play thanks to Luuk de Jong (m.28) who led the attack with a double and an assist. The other goals were scored by Malik Tillman (m.30), André Ramalho (m.37) and Johan Bakayoko (m.53).
PSV Eindhoven remains firm at the top of the Eredivisie standings with 26 wins, three draws and just one defeat to add 81 points, 12 more than its closest pursuer, the Feyenoord of Mexican Santiago Giménez who this Sunday will face the Fortuna Sittard.
