According to authorities, CPR was performed on the woman on the plane and the flight was diverted to the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory located in the southeast of the Bahamas.

Doctors and police were sent to the plane and The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.according to a statement posted on Facebook by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police.

Smith’s body is expected to be returned to Indiana next week, according to Volz.
