In one of the most exciting finishes in the history of the NASCAR Cup, Mexican Daniel Suárez achieved an impressive victory this Sunday in Atlanta by winning by just three thousandths at the time of crossing the finish line and thus breaking his streak of 57 races without being able to win.

The Mexican driver who is part of the Trankhouse Racing team won in a heart-stopping final against Ryan Blaner and veteran Kyle Busch, whom he surpassed by just three thousandths in what became only the third closest final in the history of this motorsport championship.

“It has been very close. She was very close”Daniel Suárez commented excitedly after the exciting race held on Sunday night at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. “It was a good race”stated the pilot born in Monterrey.

With this victory, Daniel Suárez assured his presence in the final series of the season, which allows him to compete for the championship of the most important category of Stock Cars in North American motorsports.

“Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, Austin Cindric were also doing a great job pushing. On the backstretch he didn’t push me because he knew he was going to hurt his teammate, but man, what a job.”completed the 32-year-old Mexican driver according to the Motorsport portal.

“We had an accident on the second lap, but the guys did a great job fixing the car in an incredible way. I can’t thank everyone enough… All the fans are amazing here. Come on!”Suárez continued excitedly.

The incredible moment at the closing of the NASCAR Cup race in Atlanta in which the Mexican Daniel Suárez ended up winning by just three thousandths of a second.

The closest finish in a NASCAR race in history is Butch Miller, who won a race in Colorado in 1995 by just 0.001 seconds. This is followed by several races in the second place of the closest finishes.

In total there are four who were defined by just two thousandths: Ricky Craven in Darlington (2003), Jimmie Johnson in Talladega (2011), Terry Labonte (1999) and Kyle Busch, also in Talladega (2010), according to a report from TUDN.

In this way, Daniel Suárez earned his second victory in races and the first for him since the 2022 season, so the victory achieved this Sunday has a double special flavor for the Mexican driver who also made a publication on his social networks with the message: “We won.”

The Mexican has not had his best performance this season in the superspeed categories of Daytona or Talladega, but he has stood out in the reconfigured Atlanta and this Sunday’s victory confirms it.
