While it is true that the history of the rivalry between América and Cruz Azul adopted the nickname “Young Classic” with the 4-1 victory of the Celeste Machine in the final of the 1971-72 season, the antecedents of both teams actually date back to the 1964-65 season when the so-called Águilas defeated the cement workers 1-2 at the December 10 Stadium, the former home of the Cruzazulinos.
For that reason this Saturday night starting at 9 pm Central Mexico (7 pm Pacific/10 pm Eastern), both teams will look for a victory that will help them improve their statistics in the six-decade antagonism that both teams have registered. .
