Security guard shoots and kills Hispanic man in Los Angeles Home Depot parking lot

A security guard shot and killed a Hispanic driver this Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of a Home Depot store in south Los Angeles, authorities reported.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the store located in the 1800 block of Slauson Avenueaccording to agents from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

According to the researchers, the security guard shot the subjectwho was driving a Mercedes-Benz car after he tried to run him over.

Other versions mentioned that the suspicious driver he had allegedly assaulted a personwho was hospitalized due to her injuries.

After the alleged altercation, the suspect in the attack tried to escapebut the security guard made an effort to stop him, but he shot and killed him.

Initially, he was described as a 30 year old man.

Subsequently, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the shot motorist as Carlos Lara Jr.resident of the city of Los Angeles.

People close to the victim, who described him as a father and electricianthey mentioned that he was aboard his car at the time he was shot.

This Sunday night, friends and loved ones of the victim held a vigil at the place where the shooting occurred, and They questioned the way the security guard proceededwho they described as insensitive.

“Your family needs answers. They need closure,” said Rubi Orozco, a friend of the driver who died in the shooting.

According to some reports, the security guard was detained after the shooting occurredbut it was not clarified if he was under arrest or was only taken into custody for questioning about this incident.

It is unknown whether the guard could be charged and whether he would face charges as a result of this shooting.
