Toni Kross reveals that he has not yet made his decision to continue at Real Madrid or retire

Toni Kroos recognized on the eve of Real Madrid’s return to the Champions League, with their round of 16 clash against Leipzig, who has not yet made the decision on whether to remain active or retire at the end of the season, nor the return to the German team for the Euro Cup that his country hosts.

“I always tell you the truth and the truth is that I don’t know,” he acknowledged in a press conference that largely revolved around his future. “I’m thinking about what to do, I haven’t decided anything yet. I am very happy that many people want me to play for another year, it is a positive sign to hear that I hope it stops. “I feel fine but I still haven’t made the decision.”

He added it to the decision he must also make about his return to the national team, after admitting that he has Germany’s interest in playing in the European Championship on the table.

“All the problems I have at the moment are summarized in one question,” he joked with the Spanish press. “I have to make decisions, think a lot about what I’m going to do. I really haven’t made any decisions. It depends on many things, about how I feel, about my personal plans that I have because I have always said that I want to finish my career at the highest level possible,” he defended.

Toni Kross does not make it clear when he will make the decision on whether to continue at Real Madrid

After hearing his mother say that Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti and Kroos’ son Leon would be very happy if he continued playing football, the midfielder jokingly responded that he “talks a lot.”

“We had the same renewal discussion a year ago and it went well. I am quite happy with the decision I made. This year let’s see, I enjoy the moment and it is going so well that it leaves me a little more time to decide. It has to be the right one. With the selection the same, I’m thinking about it, there is the possibility of seeing what comes out in the end. At the moment I don’t know,” he added.

Kroos did not set a date to decide whether to continue at Real Madrid or retire, but he was categorical in ruling out a return to Bayern Munich. “I don’t know if it’s right but if you want me in your club, I love it but I can say that that is surely not going to happen.”

He recalled that his thought was that 32 years old is the best age to leave football, and he is already 34, but he valued his great physical and football moment at Real Madrid.

“I will make the decision when I am ready and clear. This situation doesn’t worry me one bit, you can see it on the field. It’s important for my future but I’m so happy with what I’ve achieved and how I’m playing now that it doesn’t worry me. “I always enjoy football,” he acknowledged.

“My head surprises me more than my body. It has to do with my history, I started very young at 17 at Bayern, with pressure at a high level. I thought I would last fifteen years but I still have desire, motivation and it surprises me more than my body because I have had few problems. It’s more the head,” he stated.
