The eight games without winning that the Xolos de Tijuana accumulate between the Apertura 2023 tournament and Clausura 2024 has begun to create havoc within the border team as demonstrated this Friday night with the discussions between several players of the team led by Miguel Herrera, as well as an apparent exchange of words between the strategist himself and a fan.
The reality is that the lack of victories in the last four games in the Estadio Caliente against Pachuca in the last tournament and against América, Chivas and the most recent against ‘Gallos Blancos’ from Querétaro have increased the level of discontent among Xolos fans.
If we add to this that as a visitor he also registered a defeat with América in the previous championship, a tie with Atlas and defeats with Cruz Azul and Pachuca, the matter has become an ant color for the future of the sought-after coach of the canine squad.
These factors have little by little been wearing down the relationship and the fans seem upset, especially in the most recent match against the team led by the Argentine Mauro Gerck, where the Xolos had the opportunity to win, but in the end ‘Gallos Blancos’ ended up taking an important point from them.
Obviously the fact that Tijuana has only had one title for 12 years has been increasing the discontent among its followers and much more against Miguel Herrera for being the second process he has lived in front of the Tijuana squad.
In this way, the fact that during the match against the Querétaro team, just at the end of the first half, the experienced Jesús Corona complained to the defender Rafael Fernández and an exchange of words arose in which the Paraguayan forward Carlos González also intervened, gave way to generating all kinds of comments that the locker room is divided and that it will not take long for the pressure within the border squad to burst.
This, coupled with the dialogue that coach Miguel Herrera had with a fan located in the stands, has also increased the pressure on the capital strategist, where everything he does or fails to do generates controversy, as happened at the end of the match last Friday. .
