The category in which Karol G won: Best Urban Music Album, is new. The section was added in 2022 and, until Sunday, the only winner was Bab Bunny for The Last Tour of the World and A Summer Without You.
Upon receiving the award, the 32-year-old singer gave a moving speech of thanks. “Hello everyone, my name is Karol G. I am from Medellín, Colombia. “This is my first time at the Grammys and it’s also my first time having my own Grammy,” she said excitedly.
“I’m super happy, I’m super nervous, super excited to be in front of so many legends that I admire and respect,” she added.
During her speech, the “Provenza” singer assured that her album, the fourth of her career, has given her the most beautiful memories. “This is such a beautiful thing. My album has given me the best memories of my entire life. My fans who came and enjoyed my album, who gave me motivation and inspiration and healed with me. Thank you so much. I promise to always give you my best and I hope this is the first of many. So thank you all,” she concluded.
Karol G asked for a small role in Griselda
Karol G made her acting debut in Griselda, which premieres this Thursday. The Colombian singer plays Carla, a close friend of the drug trafficker. Recently, she said that she didn’t want a very big role in the miniseries.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, during the premiere of Griselda in Miami, Karol G said that the producers of the series wanted him to appear more; However, she said that she wanted a small role.
“I think they came to me with a different character (to play),” said the singer, who She assured that – for the moment – she did not feel prepared to play a larger character.
I was like, ‘Wait, this is the first time I’m doing this (acting) and I think I’m going to take something smaller,” she explained. “I (wanted) to start learning first,” she added.
The “TQG” singer also talked about her experience on set, how she felt and what she learned. “I was a little sponge absorbing everything on set and learning a lot from my other castmates and I’m super happy,” she said.
