The fans of Katy Perry They have received a surprise, because The singer is already working on what will be her seventh album, which would be released in the fall of 2024. She would promote it with a world tourwhich would mark his return to the stage from his series of shows in Las Vegas, titled play and which concluded last November.
An informant revealed to the newspaper The Sun that The 39-year-old artist has been writing songs since 2021 (when he began his residency at the Resorts World hotel and casino), and that The musical style of the album will be very different from what he has presented in his previous productions.
As for the tour, it would be Perry’s first since the one she did in 2018: “After spending so much time on the west coast of the United States, (Katy) feels ready to tour again. The demand is there, because she has many hits, so taking her show on tour will surely be a big draw. The hope is that she can start towards the end of 2024, but it is still being resolved.”
In the program “Good Morning America” Perry commented that she hasn’t released an album since having her daughter Daisy: “I think I’m writing a lot, and I’ve written from a place of love, because I feel that a lot: a lot of unconditional love, that love that you never knew existed. I’m always writing, but I think what’s really important to me is celebrating the world I get to build with all these wonderful songs and being responsible for the life of a three-year-old girl. “I’ll be back, but let me do it right.”
Katy Perry has not released an album of unreleased material since smilein 2020; Since then, several successful singers have emerged on the music scene, such as Camila Cabello, Tate McRae, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish; Regarding the latter, the artist recognized that she made a big mistake by not agreeing to work with the interpreter of “Bad Guy” when they proposed it to him: “I heard a song called “Ocean Eyes” and (Billie) was just a blonde girl, and I said, ‘Hey, it’s boring’…It was a serious mistake, a gigantic mistake.”
