For several years the actor Timothée Chalamet showed interest in playing Bob Dylan in a movie. And although filming was delayed due to the strike of Hollywood actors, he took advantage of the time to study the singer’s musical work, without imagining that, in order for his interpretation to be convincing, has been given access to much unpublished material from the rock poet.
In a recent interview with Josh HorowitzChalamet revealed the above and said that he is already fully working on the film “A Complete Unknown”: “This may raise the ire of many Bob fans, and rightly so. But Jeff (Rosen, the musician’s manager) He sent me a 12-hour playlist of unreleased Bob material from 1959 to 1964. “I feel like I’m holding on to gold or something.”
The film will be directed by James Mangoldand will show only one period of Dylan’s life, when as a teenager he traveled from Minnesota to New York to meet Woody Guthrie. Little by little Bob meets people who discover his talent, until he gets a contract with the Columbia Records.
“A Complete Unknown” could be released at the end of 2024, with a view to the actor obtaining nominations for several awards the following year. Jeff Rosen He is one of the executive producers, and Dylan himself has been delighted with Timothée playing him.
