Aston Martin DB12 Volante is presented with more than 600 horsepower

Through a press release, Aston Martin unveiled the DB12 Volantecompanion to the DB12 Coupé, a convertible vehicle that is part of the brand’s next generation of sports cars, fusing performance and handling characteristic of the Super Tourer with the sensations of driving with an open roof.

“For many of our customers, driving with the roof down is the greatest pleasure. “Aston Martin Volantes has captured that emotion and expressed it with unique style for more than six decades,” says Amedeo Felisa, CEO of Aston Martin.

“With the new DB12 Volante we have changed the rules, creating a car that intensifies those sensations while retaining all the purity and exceptional sporting capabilities of the DB12 Coupé. A rare convertible and truly sporty in every respect, this is a car to challenge preconceptions and find a new generation of Volante customers,” he continued.

Developed simultaneously with its Coupé counterpart, The DB12 Volante incorporates the same advances in design, engineering and technology achieved by the most recent evolution of Aston Martin’s flagship model.

With class-leading power and performance, as well as the dynamics characteristic of a true high-calibre sports car, special emphasis has been placed on this vehicle in the meticulous engineering and detailed specifications of all the components located at the bottom of the Volante.

Key structural elements have been optimized, such as rear suspension upper mounting points and lateral connections. Additionally, improvements to the transverse engine mount contribute to increase overall torsional rigidity of the DB12 Volante by approximately 5%.

Its 4.0 Twin-Turbo V8 engine delivers power and an outstanding soundtrack, carefully tuned by Aston Martin engineers to deliver 680 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, with 800 Nm and 590 pound-feet of torque, between 2,750 and 6,000 rpm. .

Thus, it is distinguished by profiles of Modified cams, optimized compression ratioslarger turbos and better cooling, thus achieving a notable 34% increase in output compared to the DB11.

With accelerations 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 or 3.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 320 km/h, The performance of the DB12 Volante is one of its best calling cards.
