Atlético San Luis took advantage against Monterrey by winning 1-0 in a match played in the Alfonso Lastras stadium in the city of San Luis Potosí. A solitary goal from Chávez made the difference in a match that became boring in several parts of it.

This match was the second of the quarterfinals of the Liga MX Liguilla. Earlier in the day, América and León had tied two goals at the Nou Camp and with the Monterrey match, the first two places in the regular round ended up having a tough time in these decisive moments.

First part and the lead for San Luis

Atlético San Luis came out with greater momentum than Monterrey. Those directed by Tano Ortiz ended up being highly criticized through social networks due to their lack of dedication and little play shown in this match against San Luis as visitors.

At minute 21 Ricardo Chávez placed the advantage for the locals. After a free kick from the left, the aforementioned footballer took advantage of a poorly guarded ball so that he could beat the Andrada goalkeeper with a kick.

In the first half hour San Luis looked much better than Monterrey. The Alfonso Lastras stadium was to death with the locals, so much so that they began to shout the ole for their boys who were dreaming and defeating one of the most expensive rosters in the MX League, who was disconcerted by the goal and that this is how they would end going to the locker room.

The second half of Rayados at San Luis’s home

Those led by Tano Ortiz did not find any response in the second half and were often surprised in a game in which San Luis was also looking for the second goal but without luck.

The second half was a mere formality and both teams did not hurt each other. However San Luis was the team that ended up getting the result from home and allowing himself to dream of the semifinals. The return match will be played in the Sultana del Norte next Saturday, December 2.
