Chris Sununu, governor of New Hampshire, promotes that at least a couple of candidates for the Republican candidacy in the face of the primaries choose to step aside and thus give more opportunity to listen to the characters best prepared to regain control of the White House.

During an interview with the television network CBS News, The state president said that perhaps the time has come for Asa Hutchinson and Doug Burgum, who failed to qualify to attend the third Republican debate, to withdraw from the race to see their names on the ballot.

“If you’re not on the debate stage, I don’t see the way. They’re great. They’re two of my best friends, frankly. And they have worked hard. They’ve been great candidates on the ground, but if you’re not making it to the national debate stage, it’s hard to find your way at the moment. So, you know, those are difficult conversations to have,” she expressed.

And it is that, To access a place in the third debate, the Republican National Committee (RNC) set a threshold of 70 thousand unique donors, compared to 50 thousand required in the second debateand at least 200 unique donors per state or territory in at least 20 of those jurisdictions.

In addition, candidates had to have 4% support or more in two national polls, or 4% in a national poll and another 4% in a state poll.

It is clear that, As the primaries approach, the requirements for applicants will increase and it will become increasingly complex to meet them.

Hence the reason why former President Mike Pence has chosen to stop his campaign before the deadline to adhere to the RNC threshold, since in this way his decline was more honorable.

In this sense, Chris Sununu supports the idea of reducing the group of applicants, with the purpose of giving more promotion time to those who truly prove to be the strongest.

“I think of four or five candidates who will contribute enthusiasm and dynamism, showing their experience, as well as their background to fight for the interests of citizens,” he emphasized.
