Two dead and three injured after shooting at a business in Tacoma, Washington

Authorities reported that at least two people died and three others were injured in a shooting that occurred during the early hours of Sunday at a business in Tacoma, Washington.

Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. local time to a report of multiple gunshots inside a business in the 2700 block of 6th Avenue, the police said. Tacoma Police Department in a press release.

Officers found four people who had suffered gunshot wounds, according to the news release, including one who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three “suffered serious injuries” and were taken to hospitals.

“The suspect is still outstanding,” police said in an update.

“The suspect is believed to have interacted with one of the victims prior to the shooting, but it is not known if he knew the victim,” authorities added.

Other victims were bystanders, according to police.

Police had initially reported one death and three people injured.

They later claimed that another victim had been found with a survivable injury and that one of the victims previously described as being in critical condition had died.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 pm local time on a street in West End neighborhood of the city, located near the center. This was reported at a press conference on Friday night, the head of cincinnati policeTeresa Theetge

Theetge said when officers arrived at the scene they found one person, a man, dead at the scene. Three other victims were transported to Children’s Hospital Medical Centerincluding one who is being treated for life-threatening injuries, while two victims were transported to University Hospital.

The deceased victim was later identified as an 11-year-old boy, according to a news release from the Cincinnati Police.

“It is absolutely unacceptable in our city, unacceptable, that on a Friday night six people were shot and killed in a single incident,” the police chief said, according to CBS News.

The ages of the victims were not revealed.
