Houston Dynamo took the lead in the MLS playoffs thanks to a great goal from Héctor Herrera

Mexican Héctor Herrera scored a goal this Sunday in the 2-1 victory with which the Houston Dynamo took advantage in the first round series of the MLS playoffs against Real Salt Lake.

Herrera, captain and leader of Dynamo, scored a great goal with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area in the 22nd minute. and the Moroccan Amine Bassi made it 2-1 in the 79th minute after the American Diego Luna tied.

The Dynamo, who won the United States Cup this year by defeating Leo Messi’s Inter Miami In the final, they took a 1-0 lead in an unprecedented best-of-three series introduced this year by MLS.

To advance to the Western Conference semifinals, the Dynamo needs to win another game. The second match will be held on November 6 in Salt Lake City.

For now, Dynamo showed great form and won a match of tremendous intensity from start to finish.

Herrera put Dynamo ahead and scored his fifth goal of the season, in which he also distributed fifteen assists.

Luna equalized for Real Salt Lake in the 52nd minute with an accurate right-footed shot from the edge of the area, but the Texans forcefully regained control of the match and broke the rival wall with a goal from Bassi, after a central rebound from the rival goalkeeper.

The winner of this series will face the winner of the series between Saint Louis City and Sporting Kansas City by the Mexican Alan Pulido.

Meeting between Héctor Herrera and Yordan Álvarez

The Mexican soccer player shared with the Cuban player of the Houston Astros, Yordan Álvarez.

Herrera did not hesitate to greet the Cuban and give his shirt to Álvarez, who is one of the greatest idols in the city of Houston.

Álvarez has a World Series ring with the Houston Astros and Herrera already has a title with the Dynamo in the US Open Cup.
