The death of Matthew Perry has impacted the artistic community in the United States and its fans worldwide. However, A former “Saturday Night Live” writer named Kevin Brennan has generated controversy for his comments on the social network x (before Twitter), which have been described as insensitive and in bad taste.

Brennan – 63, who has a podcast and works as a comedian stand-up– published a message that says the following: “Drowned in a jacuzzi. Hahahaha,” to which comments such as “What the hell is your problem?”, “Disgusting,” and “The definition of a pathetic attempt to get attention.” Not satisfied with this, Brennan wrote a text in response, “justifying” his actions: “I just thought it was funny. But I love it when addicts die.”

Immediately, the accounts of the former screenwriter’s other social networks were filled with ridicule towards him.among which they stood out: “I didn’t know you existed, until today, and I see why” and “The funniest thing is that if you drowned in a bowl of cereal, you wouldn’t even make a headline.
