This injury has taken him out of competitions and kept him on the sidelines of the courts. The historic scorer for the Mexican team explained how he has coped with the injury.
On June 23, Javier Hernández had to undergo surgery to treat his injury. Clearly this made him stand out from the rest of the season with the Los Angeles Galaxy. For a player of his caliber and with the campaign starting, It was a hard blow for the former Real Madrid striker.
“It was a difficult injury because I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t move my leg.The important thing is that my family was there and I supported them. When I walked again, it was something impressive, that’s when you start to enjoy life more. To value what you have, and that is when you start to be grateful for things and see the glass half full and not half empty.“Chicharito said in statements compiled by Fútbol Total MX.
Despite the complexity of his injury and the prolonged downtime he faces, Javier Hernández has not considered retiring at 35 years old. Chicharito reported that his recovery is on the right track and he sees himself with the ability to remain at the best level.
“Recovery is going very well. Continue patience, perseverance… About two or three more months and then play again (…) I see myself playing, I really have this scene of continuing to play and not just for love and passion that I know, but because I also know that before the injury, my body was in optimal condition and responded to my head,” Chicharito said in an interview with Alberto Lati for Fox Sports.
Will Chicharito stay in the MLS?
The Los Angeles Galaxy modality is to make annual contracts to Javier Hernández. Chicharito got the renewal last season after meeting a scoring quota. However, The Mexican forward’s contract with the Los Angeles team ends in December of this year.
In the event that the club decides not to renew his contract, The former Real Madrid striker would become a free agent. From the Liga MX, the possibility has arisen that he could play with the Rayados de Monterrey in case Carlos Vela does not decide to take the proposal.
