Biden Government announces more than 40 million to support the education of Hispanics

President Joe Biden’s government announced this Thursday that it granted more than $40 million to support Latino students and the educational institutions that prepare and support these students.

Funds will be allocated through the Development of Hispanic Serving Institutions (DHSI) and Minority Science and Engineering Improvement (MSEIP) programs.which will provide grants to Hispanic Serving Institutions, known as HSIs, to improve their educational programs and increase enrollment of Latino students.

The Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardonahighlighted today in a statement that The Biden Government has made “historic investments” in educational institutions that serve Hispanics.

He added that investing right now in Hispanic students is important since diversity in education is “under attack.”

Latino students represent almost one in five of the country’s university studentsaccording to data shared by Cardona.

“The talent, vision and multilingual capabilities of Latino students They will be the key to the future of our nation, the key to our prosperity, the key to our competitors”, assessed the secretary.

Cardona’s announcement was made within the framework of the celebration of the National Week of Institutions Serving Hispanics.
