Due to prostate problems, Rafael Caro Quintero is released from prison and is hospitalized for surgery

Rafael Caro Quintero was released from prison, but he did so to be hospitalized at the Adolfo López Mateos Medical Center in Toluca, State of Mexico, to undergo a scheduled operation for prostate enlargement.

Although it is an endoscopic surgery, which means that the entire procedure is performed without incisions, due to its age and to avoid complicationsthe so-called “narco of drug traffickers” remains under observation.

The authorities have not reported his state of health after undergoing surgery for abnormal phase 4 prostate growth. Although this had already been diagnosed months ago and he needed the operation in June, until This September 20, he left the “El Altiplano” prison, in Almoloya de Juárez, in the State of Mexico.

On July 15, 2023, Rafael Caro Quintero celebrated one year since he was arrested in the municipality of San Simón (Choix), in Sinaloa. It was the second capture against him and was led by the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), who located the founder of the Guadalajara Cartel in some bushes.

Caro Quintero was detained for the second time by the Mexican authorities, who in compliance with an extradition order from the United Statesthey implemented a search operation to locate who was one of the most wanted drug lords in Mexico in the 1980s.

The boss is responsible for the possible murder of Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in 1985, an agent of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) who was carrying out investigations against the Quintero criminal organization.
