The first semi-final of the US Open between Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova, was suspended for 50 minutes after a group of environmental protestors entered to sabotage on the Arthur Ashe grounds.
The result of this protest led to four of these elements arrested and the boos of the public that were placed against the saboteurs who were present at this important sporting event, which is in its decisive phase.
However, at the time of suspension, The American tennis player led the score with partials of 6-4 and 1-0. Despite the 50-minute delay, the game was able to resume successfully, however there remains the unpleasant anecdote and the uncomfortable moment for the athletes and the public present who came to witness the match.
One of the individuals stuck his bare feet to the floor in the seating area, which is why the presence of medical personnel was needed to remove this person in good condition. Finally There were no injuries or other incidents to regret, beyond an unjustified delay of a sporting event, something that has been repeated in other scenarios.
Unfortunately It is not the first time that an event of this magnitude has happened on tennis stages, the same thing happened at Wimbledon and now at the US Open. However, the protesters were arrested by the New York Police and placed under the command of the competent agencies.
