Mexican soccer increasingly exports more soccer players to Europe. Even the teams from the Old Continent are focused on acquiring little-known players, but who show flashes of talent for the future. The FC Barcelona looked for to do with two players of the Necaxabut the Rays would have closed the doors on them. Jesus Alcántar and Heriberto Jurado they could have reached Spanish football.
FC Barcelona has recently become more interested in Mexican soccer players. A few months ago the blaugrana team signed Julián Araujo, Los Angeles Galaxy winger, who was later loaned to Las Palmas. But his interest in the Aztecs did not end there. Necaxa had two of its new targets.
The case of Heriberto Jurado was the most notorious. The 18-year-old striker was the center of media attention because his name was associated with the blaugrana team. The Mexican, despite his young age, has played a large number of games in Liga MX and is one of the jewels of the team.
The second in contention is about Jesus Alcantar. This other footballer also belongs to Necaxa, but is surrounded by a different context. The 20-year-old defender remained on loan with Portugal’s Sporting Lisboa. The time of the loan ended and Alcántar had to return to the Rays. According to reports from Soccer Total MX, FC Barcelona would have sent an offer for the player, but Necaxa once again responded negatively.
The doors of FC Barcelona are open
It is worth clarifying that in both cases the fate of the footballers was in the subsidiary of the blaugrana group. In the event that Heriberto and Jesús had signed for the Spanish club, his position would be with Barcelona Athletic.
The main reason for these recent interests of the Blaugrana team for Mexican players may be related to the “Kaiser”. Rafa Márquez has been the coach of Barcelona Athletic since July 2022. The ex-soccer player from El Tri has commanded the formative categories of the Blaugrana team in a great way and has earned the confidence to make contracts with a view to the future of the institution.
