Insecurity in Mexico is a problem that has not been able to be stopped, and in some places this situation is more accentuated, such as in the state of Morelos, where there are several red dots where different crimes are committed, such as assaults.

In addressing this issue, Alicia Vazquez Lunahead of the Cuernavaca City Citizen Protection and Assistance Secretariat, gave an unusual reason why the authorities fail to catch the thieves.

At a press conference, the official explained that security elements are called by those affected after the robberies are committed, which gives criminals time to escape. “Our problem is that the operational elements are called after the robbery, and that allows them to thin out,” he stated.

In addition, he added that criminals take advantage of the limits between the municipalities of Temixco and Cuernavaca, where there are several ravines or paths to escape from the forces of order, despite the operations carried out to stop them.

Reactions to statements

The video with the security director’s statements went viral on social networks, and was also taken up by various media outlets.

The responses to him were varied, ranging from indignation to those that were creative and made fun of the official’s words

Some Internet users thought that they should make appointments with the thieves at least 10 business days in advance, others that they should give courses to be clairvoyants and be able to see that they will be victims of assault in advance. “Yeah wow, what a lack of consideration not to call before”, said an X user, while others pointed out the “ineptitude and complicity”.
