Morena, AMLO's party, today reveals the name of its presidential candidate

MEXICO – After months of pre-campaigns for the candidates for the presidential candidacy for him National Regeneration Movement (Brunette), and the completion of a series of surveys, this Wednesday ends the countdown and the National Party Council will announce the name of who was chosen to be candidate for the Presidency of Mexico for the party of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The contenders for Morena’s presidential candidacy are: Claudia Sheinbaum, former mayoress of Mexico City; Marcelo Ebrard, former chancellor; Adam Augusto Lopez, former Secretary of the Interior; and licensed legislators Ricardo Monreal, Gerardo Fernandez Norona and Manuel Velasco.

And it is that since Tuesday the packages from the pollsters hired by Morena arrived, in the vicinity of the World Trade Center (WTC), of Mexico City, where the counting of ballot by ballot began, informed the leader of the official party, Mario Delgado Carrillo.

Until Tuesday morning, 90% of the ballots delivered by the pollsters had been counted, Delgado Carillo indicated this Wednesday morning.

Today they announce the presidential candidate of Morena

The counting began in the presence of the representatives of the six candidates for the presidential candidacy for Morena. It is estimated that this Wednesday afternoon, around 5:00 p.m. local time (3 ET), the name of the winner who will contend in the next 2024 presidential elections will be revealed.

The national leader of Morena assured that the results obtained after the count will be final and unappealable.

The candidates for the presidential candidacy for Morena are popularly known as “corcholatas”, who were summoned at 5:00 p.m. local time (3 ET) in the WTC where the results of the polls and the presidential candidate of Morena will be announced.

Delgado Carillo assured that this Morena process is unprecedented and is confident that the transformation of Mexico will continue.

Morena’s presidential candidate will compete with Xóchitl Gálvez, candidate for the Broad Front for Mexico (FAM) and against the Movimiento Ciudadano candidate, who has not yet been announced, in the 2024 federal elections.
