Small plane crashes in residential Compton neighborhood; no victims reported

A small plane crashed this Sunday afternoon in a residential neighborhood in the city of Comptonwithout the authorities reporting fatalities from the accident.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. and was attended to by the Compton Fire Department.when the aircraft, which was carrying a banner, plunged to the ground and struck a chain link fence along Oleander Avenue and Alondra Boulevard, a few blocks from the Compton/Woodley airport.

The pilot of the plane escaped serious injuriessaid Sheriff French, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Compton Station.

French mentioned that the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft.

According to the authorities, the aircraft had just started the flight when a mechanical failure occurred, so it was trying to return to the airport at the time the accident occurred.

When the pilot was rescued from the plane, he seemed to be a bit shaken up, so He was taken to a hospital as a precaution, but suffered no serious injuries from the mishap..

No one on the ground was injured. due to the crash of the aircraft.
