Marcelo Flores It was one of the great topics of interest in Mexican soccer. There was talk with expectation about what would be the decision of the young promise of Arsenal: represent Canada, England or Mexico. But the “Chelo” ended up staying with El Tri, but that great promise has been losing strength and may go back to theto the third division of England.

Marcelo Flores was one of the soccer players with the greatest projection of the Mexican team. The young Mexican prospect was praised by Mikel Arteta and even came to enter a call-up of the first team of Arsenal.

However, a loan to Real Oviedo of Spain somewhat cut the projection of the Mexican. “Chelo” had very few opportunities in football in Spain and his misstep keeps him adrift today.

The interest of Swindon Town

After Marcelo Flores ended his loan with Real Oviedo, it was unknown what would happen to his future. Arsenal have not yet ruled on the status of a player who was ending his contract early. But everything seems to indicate that the English ensemble does not have the “Cello”.

After attending Arsenal first-team matches, Flores’s career has gone downhill, especially when one of her only public suitors has been Swindon Town, a club from the third division of English football.

In a friendly match for Swindon Town, Marcelo Flores would have participated. Clearly, the Mexican soccer player has a lot of experience behind him despite his age. The talent of “Chelo” would have been captured by the Swindon strategist, Michael Flynn, who did not hesitate to praise him.

“I’ve seen one that I would definitely like. He was the best player in the park by far. I don’t think we’ll catch him. He was the one who entered [Marcelo] Flowers. I think he’s in the Mexican national team and he was on loan in La Liga last year, so I doubt we’ll get it.”, said the coach in a statement compiled by Fútbol Total MX.

Swindon Town is a club founded in 1879 and currently competes in the Football League Two or the third division of English football. Clearly this would not be such an appetizing proposition for a footballer who had brushes with Arsenal’s first team players and who played some games in the second division of Spain.

According to the Transfermarkt portal, Marcelo Flores would have a link with Arsenal until 2025 and is currently still active in the English soccer reserve league. The “Chelo” is only 19 years old and is valued at just over $800,000 dollars.
