“Do not leave your houses”: This is how a tremendous shooting between police and members of the CJNG took place in Puebla

It was a normal day, the children were at school, people at work and others at home, but the routine was interrupted by a terrible shooting that put the population of San Miguel Xoxtla, a town in the state of San Miguel, on alert. “Hello, a very good afternoon to all the citizens of San Miguel Xoxtla. In the recording, the mayoress was wearing a bulletproof vest and sounded nervous, reiterating that the residents did not have to go out, because their integrity was more important than the morbidity that the situation could generate. The video was broadcast in all the Mexican media and was a sample of the terror that the shooting unleashed.

The recordings that circulated on social networks reveal some police officers sheltered behind their patrol cars, shooting at invisible targets. One of them runs to take cover next to the one who is filming and they shout: “Take cover”. The detonations show that they are heavy-caliber weapons.

One police officer killed and eight arrested

According to the newspaper El Universal, eight members of the CJNG – seven men and one woman – were arrested after the confrontation they staged with police forces in the municipality of San Miguel Xoxtla.

In addition, the Secretary of Public Security of Puebla, Daniel Cruz Luna reported that the balance of the shooting was one state police officer killed and two more wounded by gunshots.
