California average gas price hits its highest point of the year

Average prices for regular gasoline in California have an upward trend.

This Tuesday, August 22, the gallon of regular gasoline in the state reached $5.26 dollarswith which it reaches the highest point so far this year, according to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA).

According to AAA, the price of $5.26 cents it is 10 cents more expensive than the one registered last week and with an increase of 37 cents compared to the amount of a month ago.

With this trend, the gallon of regular gasoline is approaching to the amount reached a year ago, when the price was $5.34 per gallon.

In Los Angeles County, The average price of regular fuel was held this Tuesday at $5.36 dollars.

Nationwide, this Tuesday, a gallon of regular gasoline was priced at $3.85 dollars.

The trend of increases moved California back to the highest average regular gasoline prices in the country, ahead of Washingtonwhich ranks second at $5.05 per gallon.

Auto Club Southern California spokesman Doug Shupe said the Oil Price Information Service reported that gasoline prices they were rising due to limited supply in the wholesale market, plus excess demand from refiners looking to buy up excess supply.

“The combination of these factors continues to push gasoline prices up,” said Shupe.

On the morning of this Wednesday, August 23, fuel prices do not present variation with respect to the amounts of this Tuesday.
