Red Bull director confirmed that Sergio “Checo” Pérez will race with them next season

After the great number of ups and downs that he has had Sergio “Checo” Perez throughout the Formula 1 season. Christian HornerDirector of the Red Bull team, announced that he will have the Mexican driver for the 2024 campaign of the highest category of motorsports.

“We have a contract (2024). We are happy with Checo and he will be our driver next year”. Horner commented.

At the beginning of the 2023 season, “Checo” managed to get on the podium in four of the first five races of the campaign and achieving victories in the circuits of Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. But the performance of him on the Red Bull he went down in a chilling way.

In the last days of the Formula 1 championship, the Mexican returned to raise performance, achieving several podiums and demonstrating the reasons why he was hired by the Austrian team.

At this time of the season Sergio “Checo” Pérez is second in the world ranking of drivers with a total of 189 points and is only surpassed by his teammate Max Verstappen who has almost secured the title with a total of 314 points.

The Red Bull team has a large number of youngsters at its disposal if a vacancy opens up in the main team and Christian Horner commented that if the Mexican driver does not come up to the task in the next championship they will seriously think about replacing him for the next season (2025).

The next Formula 1 championship race will be next Sunday, August 27, when the Grand Prix of the Netherlands will be held.
