He American stage and television actor Ron Cephas Jones, winner of two Emmys for his role in the television series ‘This Is Us’ He died at the age of 66 due to a long-standing lung problem, his manager, Dan Spilo, reported.
The interpreter gave life to William Hill in ‘This Is Us’the biological father of Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown), a role for which he won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
The writer and mastermind of ‘This Is Us’Dan Fogelman, confirmed the death of the actor, originally from New Jersey, but like Spilo, he did not specify when or where the death occurred.
Despite having acted in other recent fiction such as Law and Order: Organized Crime, Better Things or Luke Cage, he was the character of William Hill in ‘This Is Us’ which earned him recognition and two Emmy Awards.

Jones was known for playing character roles who, like him, drew from past experiences of personal despair a hard-won emotional vulnerability and toughness, attaining with his role a singular poignancy, according to critics.
In’This Is Us’Jones played William “Shakespeare” Hill, a former drug addict with terminal cancer who connects at the end of his life with the adoptive family of his son, Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown), whom he abandoned in front of the fire station at the be born.

Brown, who played Randall Pearson, the son of Jones’ character on the series, has also said goodbye to the actor on Instagram. “Life has imitated art today, and one of the most wonderful people the world has ever seen is no longer with us,” he added.
Mandy Moorewho played matriarch Rebecca Pearson, has shared a photo with the actor in the penultimate episode of Bet, saying that “getting to know and work with Ron on the wild ride of This Is Us was the greatest gift.”
The creator of ‘This Is Us’, Dan Fogelman has referred to the death of Jones as “a huge loss” in his message on networks: “Ron was the best of the best, on screen, on stage and in real life. The coolest. The best to stay and laugh. And my god, what an actor. I don’t think I ever changed a single take of his… Because he did everything perfectly”.
For his participation inThis Is Us’Jones won the awards Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2018 and 2020 and was nominated on two other occasions.
His victory in the 2020 edition of the Emmy coincided with his daughter’s, becoming the first father-daughter pair to win this award in the same year.
