Hyundai RN22e and N Vision 74: more than vehicles, they represent the future of the brand

Hyundai is working hard to consolidate technologies that position it as a benchmark in the automotive market in the face of total electrification that will soon take over the industry. For this reason, a few months ago he revealed the creation of his “rolling labs” called Hyundai RN22e and Hyundai N Vision 74.

Little was known about these cars, raising uncertainty about their role within the market. However, the Asian manufacturer has revealed more concise information through a video, where it details the development process of the vehicles.

Both cars will be fully functional and will be used under reasons of research, development and verification of technologies high performance carried out by Hyundai Motorsportsserving as authentic “rolling laboratories” before applying the results obtained in mass production models.

“Hyundai N Brand is one of the fastest evolving high-performance brands in the world. All our plans are on track to be carried out in accordance with our electrification vision. The Rolling Labs Success Story Featured by RN22e it’s a perfect prelude to our N brand’s first battery-electric production model, the IONIQ 5 N, which will be available soon,” said Till Wartenberg, Vice President of N Brand Management & Motorsport Branch at Hyundai Motor Company.

Rolling laboratories in detail

The Hyundai RN22e is listed as the first N-brand performance car based on Hyundai’s Global Electric Modular Platform (E-GMP), which serves as the foundation for the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Hyundai IONIQ 6. However, it is capable of be combined with other advanced technologies in order to manage performance and reach the maximum possible threshold.

On the other hand, the Hyundai N Vision 74 takes the ambition further as it is a hydrogen-powered hybrid mobile laboratory, paving the way in the medium and long term with respect to clean energy in high-performance cars.

For this, it uses a hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system with a capacity of 500 kW, being capable of replenishing its energy in just 5 minutes. Finally, on an aesthetic level, the car has been inspired by Hyundai’s Pony Coupe concept presented in 1974, creating a connection between Hyundai’s past and the company’s future.
