Messi and the inter miami lifted the team’s first trophy in its historythis after winning a heart-stopping penalty shootout against a team from Nashville who wore the entire game and finished tied at one goal in 90 minutes regulations, but that from the 12 steps ended up giving the Leagues Cup to those led by Gerardo Martino.
The goals were scored by Lionel Messi for Inter Miami and Haitian Fafa Picaut for the Nashville locals.. In the penalty shootout, luck was on Miami’s side in some shots that were a true thriller and ended with an endless 10-9.
Inter Miami took the lead in the first half
The first half was very even, although with more control of the ball through the Garzas, who would end up taking advantage against a Nashville team that never daunted. Nashville took a second wind and tried to corner Inter Miami that was surprised after the equalizing goal, goalkeeper Draker Callender had to show off several times to avoid the fall of the eleven roses. Lionel Messi would also try and with a shot he nailed the ball across the crossbar, Miami was looking from outside the area as those led by Gary Smith retreated in search of the counter.
In the end, Mukthar for Nashville and Camapana for Inter Miami ended up missing what could have been the winning goal. for each team and deciding in the penalty shootout.
Penalties between Nashville SC and Inter Miami
Messi started converting for Inter Miami, later Mukthar equalized for NashvilleSergio Busquets once again gave the pink cast the advantage.
