In a few days the British singer Zayn Malik will return to the music scene with the single “Love like this”and has given another surprise to his fans, since he was the guest on the podcast “Call her daddy” of Alex Cooperin which he gave his first interview in six years, after he became involved in domestic violence problems that resulted in his separation from the model gigi hadidwith whom he has a daughter.

Sporting short hair and a calm demeanor, Malik, 30, commented that his abrupt departure from the boy band One Direction in 2015 was due to a personal decision when the date on which several of his former teammates had to sign a new contract approached: “I knew something was happening, so I went ahead. I said to myself, ‘I’m just going to get out of here. I think this is over now.’”

Another of Zayn’s reasons for leaving the group was his desire to record a solo album.: “I’m a passive guy, but when it comes to my music I’m serious and competitive, so I wanted to be the first to go and do my thing, that was the reason.” He also acknowledged that there were tensions between the members of One Direction: “Obviously there were problems within our friendships. If I’m completely honest, we get sick of each other. We were close…we had done crazy things with each other that no one else in the world will understand, and now I remember it more. There were great experiences, I had good times, but we continued with our paths”.
