The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues said be sure that Carlo Ancelotti will take over the management of Canarinha in mid-2024but he refrained from disclosing if the parties signed a pre-contract, or if he received confirmation from the Italian.

“He will be (in the middle of next year in Brazil). you can be sure“, said the leader to dozens of journalists who surrounded him when he left the press conference that conceded coach Fernando Diniz, who has been appointed as Brazil’s interim coach.

Rodrigues also said that the Real Madrid coach “You have the right not to say what you want” when questioned about the reasons why Ancelotti continues to deny that he has an agreement with the Confederation.

The leader, in the midst of the confusion that formed at the end of Diniz’s press conference and stumbling while walking, He affirmed that the CBF has already announced the moment in which Ancelotti is expected in Brazil to take over as Canarinha coach.

Despite the fact that the Confederation has not formally announced the contract or the date on which the Italian would take office, Rodrigues said on Wednesday in statements to television that Ancelotti will command Brazil during the 2024 Copa América.

The tournament, however, will be held between June 20 and July 14 of next year in the United States, and Ancelotti has a contract with Spanish Real Madrid until June 30.

Most of the tournament also coincides with part of Diniz’s tenure as interim coach in Brazil.

“He signed a contract on July 5 that runs through July 5, 2024. He will be the one who will decide if he will remain during that part of the Copa América”, affirmed the president of the CBF when questioned about a period in which the two coaches would coincide.

Before Rodrigues was again evasive in his answers, Diniz refused to give any information about the possible arrival of Ancelotti to the bench of the senior team.

“I am not going to go into the Ancelotti matter. That is a matter for the president (of the CBF). I’m going to talk about my style of play,” Diniz said at the press conference. “I know about Ancelotti’s plans but I don’t know how they are. They are going to have to find another way to confirm that information,” he added.

The Fluminense coach also said that he does not know Ancelotti personally and that, in his conversations with the CBF leaders, they guaranteed him that he will have total freedom and autonomy to impose his style of play without having to listen to anyone, in a reference to the Italian.
