The Cincinnati Reds achieve a historic winning streak boosted by the arrival and great performance of Dominican rookie Elly De La Cruz

The Cincinnati Reds they beat the Colorado Rockies with a score of 5-3 and managed to seal an important streak of 11 consecutive victorieswith another stellar night from rookie Elly De La Cruzwho showed off with the wood twice from the Great American Ball Park and continues to cause a sensation in the MLB.

With this win, Reds match fifth-longest team winning streak in franchise history with 11however they are not far from matching the team’s longest winning streak, dating back to 1899, when they achieved a total of 14 wins in a row.

The resurrection of the Cincinnati Reds

But this is not all, the Reds have surpassed the longest winning streak by a team that had 100 or more losses last season. It should be noted that in 2022 they added 62 wins and 100 losses, now are one win away from the Louisville Colonelsthe team with the longest winning streak after losing 100 games last season.

With 40 wins and 35 losses, the Reds lead the National League Central Division, followed by the Brewers who, with 38 wins and 36 losses, are second only one and a half games behind the lead.

Elly De La Cruz Effect

This string of victories for the Cincinnati Reds coincides with the arrival of Dominican rookie Elly De La Cruz who is on a roll and until now he is one of the star players of the Big Top. Since the rookie joined the Reds, the franchise has a 12-2 winning record.

Besides De La Cruz’s numbers are more than interesting with 18 hits, including four doubles, a triple and a couple of home runs. He also scored 14 runs and drove in another six, without a doubt the effect of the Dominican influenced the Cincinnati Reds who are now going for more.
