Veljko Paunovic, coach of Chivas de Guadalajara, broke the silence this Wednesday at a press conference and let it be known that still feels responsible for the defeat in the 2023 Clausura Final against Tigres de la UANLWell, it must be remembered that said defeat cost him the Liga MX title against the royals.
“For me, every day after the Final on May 28 has been torture for me. He tortured me personally in my analyses, my evaluations of the match, because I still feel responsible for the defeatPaunovic said at a press conference.
“In the second part I did not give solutions to the team to combat the changes made by the rival. PIt has been very hard for me and it continues to be very hard. I always use those defeats as lessons to learn and the next time we go to play a Final, don’t let them happen”, indicated the Serbian strategist from Guadalajara.
Paunovic feels indebted to Chivas
After the defeat, the Serbian explained how he is also very hurt due to not achieving the goal. In addition, how he had to see boys crying and how the illusion was lost on the part of the ‘chivas hermanos’.
“I feel very hurt by the people, the illusion who had the hobby, all of us, the boys crying afterwards, those images continue to impact me, I keep remembering myself and they are still present. It is a motivation and what I want is to recover the illusion of all, come back stronger and go to the league based on work, unity, confidence.
“It hasn’t been easy from the beginning, but we have been growing as a group and it’s time to turn a good tournament into an excellent one. The road is long and we are at the beginning of this new phase that is a continuation”, indicated the strategist of Chivas to the media.
