A plane from Mexico was declared “hostile” because it did not have authorization to fly over Venezuela, for which it was destroyed by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), reported the strategic operational commander of the military institution, Domingo Hernández Lárez.

Through his Twitter account, the military explained that the aircraft with the registration XBRAD left Cozumel and was destined for Curaçao, but at one point it disappeared from radar, turned off the position transmitter and the radio “for its diversion to Venezuelan territory”.

The plane was detected in the Pedro Camejo municipality, in the Apure state, border area with Colombia, where “flat terrain prevails that can be used for its firmness and support as clandestine airstrips,” added the commander.

Along with the message was published a video in which you can see the moment of the military operation to disable the plane that invaded Venezuelan airspace.

According to the military command, the aerial intersection with the combat means of the FANB was ordered “for lacking a flight plan, not having been authorized by the air traffic services units to operate in that area and presuming that it was being used by groups that generate violence for the cross-border crime of drug trafficking, transfer of irregular elements and weapons”.

In addition, it indicated that it was around 11:40 p.m. when the legal intervention and effective immobilization of the aircraft was carried out, without specifying what happened to its occupants.

“Venezuela is a territory of Peace and We will not allow invading foreign groups to alter the internal order of the Homelandnor the violation of national sovereignty”, was how Hernández Lárez ended his message.

It should be noted that more than 30 aircraft have been shot down or destroyed in Venezuelan territory during 2023. So far there has been no pronouncement from the Mexican government on this case.
