Julio Cesar Chavez revealed an unpleasant anecdote with promoter Don Kingwho assured that he would have taken away the amount of $700,000 dollars for an alleged insurance that never came and for which the Mexican legend ended up testifying against the businessman born in Cleveland, all this despite the fact that they were friends and spent a lot of time working together.

“The fucking old man cheated on me, I was going to fight in Las Vegas and he always bought insurance for the fighters in case they get hurt or before the fight, and I suffered a cut before going into the ring and he said that he had gifted $700,000, but never received it everí”, said Julio César Chávez in an interview for the program only with Adeleled by Adela Micha.

Legal confrontation between Julio César Chávez and Don King

This fact provoked a subsequent legal confrontation between both parties and in which Julio César Chávez ended up testifying against the promoter who is now 91 years old. This fact caused Don King’s anger against the former monarch of the world according to his own words. “I had to testify against Don King, so the old man got mad at me and then he gave me a fucking smackdown.”, said.

Thanks to this event, the friendship between Don King and Julio César Chávez had a great breakdown, however the controversial promoter would continue to represent the Mexican and according to the former boxer, he would have harmed him before a fight, causing him to fall defeated. “In a fight the old man dehydrated me, in Phoenix, Arizona. We were in court, but the fight had already been announced, so before going into the ring they gave me a drink, a liquid that dehydrated me.”, he pointed.
