Errol Spence Jr. is preparing to face Terence Crawford on July 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, a fight that will crown the first undisputed undefeated welterweight champion since all four belts have been contested. Despite this, the American expressed that I would accept without problems to measure forces with Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez if the opportunity arises.

In an interview offered to the Youtube channel of the Dallas Cowboys, an NFL team, Spence Jr. indicated that his natural weight is around 165-168 pounds, for which sees it as highly likely that the fight will take place in the future.

“If the fight (against Canelo Álvarez) comes up, I would definitely take that fight. 165-168, that’s more my natural weight and much easier for me, so i would definitely take that fight”, said.

In order for Spence Jr. to have this opportunity with Canelo Álvarez, You must first beat Terence Crawford, but most likely his opponent will exercise the rematch clause for another fight at the end of the year.

In turn, the undisputed champion is looking for a rival for the month of September and Dmitry Bivol is the first optiondespite the fact that the David Benavídez team made him a million-dollar offer to accept the duel that the fans are asking for.

For Errol Spence Jr., Canelo Alvarez should stay away from Bivol at 175lbs and stay at 168 pounds. Likewise, he believes that Benavídez would be a great fight for the Guadalajara.

“David Benavidez would be a great fight. I think he should stay away from Dmitry Bivol, mie ***, I think he should also stay away from Artur Beterbiev. For him to go back to 168 pounds, 175 would be forcing things. I don’t think his power can affect Bivol in the 175 like it could in a minor category,” he told ESNEWS.

Errol Spence Jr., 33, is a unified champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF). The boxer last stepped into the ring in April 2022, when he defeated Yordenis Ugás and won the WBA title. His professional record has 28 wins (22 knockouts) and no losses.

For his part, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez is the undisputed super middleweight champion and He has a record of 59 wins (39 on the fast track) and two losses.
