Paris Saint Germain is again in a transition season after the controversy with Christophe Galtier, Lionel Messi and the rapid elimination of PSG in the UEFA Champions League.

The newspaper L’Equipe reported that the French team is in talks to sign Julian Nagelsmann, former Bayern Munich coach, and the legend Thierry Henry as an assistant for the 2023-2024 campaign.

The German coach, who at the age of 35 has enjoyed a stellar career, led Bayern Munich between 2021 and until last March, with whom he won a Bundesliga.

Before that stage, he had broken the record as the youngest coach in the history of the Bundesliga by leading Hoffenheim in 2016, after which he also went through the bench of RB Leipzig.

Galtier out after a controversial seasonto

Galtier arrived this season after the failure of Mauricio Pochettino and with the aim of winning the Champions League with a squad full of stars and the trident of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr.

The Frenchman could not do it and was again eliminated in the Champions League round of 16 after losing to Bayern, precisely by Nagelsmann. In the middle of the season, Galtier was involved in a case of alleged racism in which he had singled out several players for being of African descent.

In addition, this week the coach stated that it had been an honor to direct Messi and that this Saturday would be his last game, something that PSG denied in a statement but two days later he ended up accepting and announcing the departure of the Argentine.

Messi left booed in his last game with PSG and Galtier closed the season with defeat at the Parc de Princes despite the celebration of Ligue 1.

Apart from Nagelsmann, the Spanish Luis Enrique as the favorite to take the reins of the Parisian team.

Recurring in the pools was also the Portuguese José Mourinho, currently in charge of Roma, with whom he was runner-up in the Europa Leaguebut the French sports press claimed that he did not feel very attracted to managing PSG.
