The heartfelt message from Vinícius Jr. after the departure of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid

Reinaldo Oliveros

Real Madrid announced that he will leave the team after the end of the 2023-2024 season and with his departure the team captain leaves and the striker who had the deadliest combination with Vinícius Jr.

The Brazilian wrote on social networks firing his teammate after playing several consecutive seasons and win several titles with the Real Madrid shirt.

“Benzvini, Vinzema… Whatever. The result has always been the same: goals, laughter, titles and, above all, learning. When the boy from São Gonçalo, too shy, arrived in Madrid in 2018, you were the first to receive me. I will never forget. I grew up with you. We won Spain, Europe and the world together. And I was able to applaud his ballon d’or with great pride. We finished this “duo of darkness” in real life today, but I will always have our videos as inspiration and memories of an unforgettable time. Karim, we will miss you very much. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, LEGEND”, Vinícius wrote on social networks.

The scoring duo

Vinícius Jr. and Benzema were one of the best duos in Europe in the last two seasons. In the 2021-2022 season, both combined for 90 goals in the Madrid team. Benzema finished with 44 goals and 15 assists, while Vinícius had 22 goals and 20 assists.

That sum of goals served to win La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

This year they combined for 80 goals in all competitions. Karim Benzema will finish with 30 goals and 6 assists in the absence of the last date in La Liga, while Vinícius once again had more than 20 goals and 20 assists with 23 goals and 21 assists.

This year they won the European Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. Between them they won two leagues, 2 Club World Cups, 2 Spanish Super Cups, 1 European Super Cup and 1 Copa del Rey.

Rodrygo also dedicated a few words to his teammate and idol after finding out about his match after 13 years at Madrid.

“KB9!!! Thank you very much for all the moments we were able to live together! Thank you for each lesson, each goal, assist, titles we won together and even for the privilege to be part of your Ballon d’Or. Writing this seems like a distant dream for Rodrygo from 10 years ago, who woke up on Saturdays to see Real Madrid play”, he said.
