This Wednesday, May 24, the unfortunate death of the singer, songwriter and actress, Tina Turner at 83 years old, the cause of death is still unknown; However, in a statement it was reported that the death occurred after a long battle against a disease.

The popular “Queen of Rock’n Roll”, Anna Mae Bullock, known in the artistic world as Tina Turner, was of American origin and Swiss nationality, during his more than fifty years of musical career and in entertainment media he received countless awards and tributesincluding a particular Barbie doll that embodied its characteristic glory years.

At the end of last year, Mattel decided to pay homage to the also dancer and choreographer in the framework of the 40th anniversary of one of his biggest hits from 1984 “What’s Love Got to Do with It”. The doll wears a short black leather dress, accompanied by a denim jacket, tights and black stilettos, as well as a microphone as an accessory.

As part of a collection to highlight the world’s most influential women in different fields, Mattel has set out to capture the greatest idols through Barbie. “Shedding light on empowered role models in an effort to inspire more girls. Stories of remarkable women to show future generations that they can be anythingthe company said in a statement.

Within the repertoire of dolls is Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, Cuban salsa singer Celia Cruz, American NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, among other. Likewise, Mattel through this initiative has promoted inclusion by creating Barbies with terminal illnesses, the disabled and others.
