Sebastián Villalobos became the winner of the golden knife in this May 18 episode of ‘Top Chef VIP 2’with which he earned the right to save up to three of his teammates during the elimination challenge next Monday.
The Colombian youtuber and singer was very excited to achieve a goal that he had already been close to in previous weeks and did not hesitate to dedicate this achievement to a very special person in his life, his grandmother Lupita. “She is a super warrior woman, she is a woman who inspires me too much, I love you, Lupita!”was how the participant described it after obtaining this victory.
To win the coveted golden knife, Sebas, Laura Zapata, Génesis Suero, José Gumbs and Juan Pablo Gil had the opportunity to cook a free dish in 45 minutes and with the market open, but with the complexity that they could only use three kitchen utensils: a knife, a spoon and a frying pan, as well as the plate on which they presented their creation to the judges.
One of the key moments of the challenge was when Laura Zapata presented her dish, some shrimp with capers and olives, because the judges immediately made the observation that she had not cleaned the shrimp well. However, they also mentioned that the taste of the dish was quite good.
In the episode we were also able to see a masterclass by chef Adria Marina, in which she taught all the participants to work with different types of rice.because he explained that each variety has different characteristics and therefore they must be prepared in a different way.
